29th Infantry, Second State Color was received in March 1864. The 29th was composed of men from Philadelphia, was mustered into service in July 1861 and mustered out of service in July 1864. The color was left in Virginia, but returned to PA in 1866. The two color-bearers of the 29th were Sergeant William Betzhold, of Company H. and Corporal Charles H. Martin of Company F.

29th Infantry, First State Color. The regiment, composed entirely of men from Philadelphia, was mustered into service in July 1861, and received the flag in March 1862. The color was retired from service in March 1864 when the regiment received new colors. The 29th was mustered out of service in July 1865. The two color-bearers of the 29th were Sergeant William Betzhold of Company H, and Corporal Charles H. Martin of Company F.
